Othakarhaka Charity Foundation is a Nonprofit organization registered under the Trustee Incorporation Act (Malawi). Locally it is affiliated to a body of Non-governmental organizations called Council for Non-Governmental Organization of Malawi (CONGOMA) and it stands at an advanced level to get certification with the Malawi Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) Board.

Founded as merely a charity group in 2012 by Ida Puliwa, (a Mulanje based lady) this organization became to being after it was formal registration in 2013 with the Malawi Government through the Registrar General.

Othakarhaka is a volunteer-based organization that currently has 4 930 active volunteers in 29 villages mostly in the area of Senior Chief Nkanda and some few villages of Senior Chief Mabuka in Mulanje district, covering an area with a population of approximately 48,000 people.
