What is Othakarhaka Foundation?
Established in 2012 by Ida Puliwa, Othakarhaka, which means ‘passing on kindness,’ began as a humble charity group. Its inception was inspired by the generosity of Dr. Marquita Hill, a retired professor from Virginia, who provided Ida with a scholarship to pursue her college education in Malawi.
Today, Othakarhaka Foundation is dedicated to offering opportunities to marginalized, needy, and vulnerable individuals in the rural communities of Malawi. We strive to extend the same kindness we receive everyday, uplifting lives and creating brighter futures.
What we Do
We are driven by the need to transform the lives of the most marginalized and vulnerable members of our communities.
With the help of different partners like you, Othakarhaka Foundation provides support to the most vulnerable communities who need it the most. Here our big number impacts:
Students supported from rural community schools with computer lessons.
Small scale farmers assisted under Sustainable Agriculture Project.
Rural Women assisted with Cervical Cancer Screening
Distributed and planted trees in schools, river banks & compounds.
