In Malawi, menstruation has always been made mysterious in a way that it goes as far as affecting the girl child’s education.
In the spirit to remove all boundaries to girls’ education, the Othakarhaka Foundation with support from Plan International Malawi has engaged community women in the Chambe community to learn reusable sanitary pad making.
This will allow the women to make sanitary pads for sale and donate some to girls who cannot afford sanitary pads during their time in school.
